Blender uv editor doesn t show image. Now if you have multiple uv image editors open how it decides which one to use. This is a good tool in blender to check the texture isn t stretched or distorted. You need to select an image or click the x to close the render result to see uv s. Click n while on the uv image editor to bring up the toolbar. I did a render of some object and since then i don t see the mesh in uv coords. I m migrating from 3ds max to blender and its totaly confusing.
Oct 26 2015 4 38 pm. When i originally added the texture file after unwrapping the crab was displayed upside down. From there i can open an image file even the render result. Blender provides another view of the vertices coordinates in the uv image editor.

Right now i m stuck because when i do mesh uv unwrap unwrap nothing shows in the uv image editor window. When you re uv unwrapping in blender it can sometimes happen that a texture doesn t show the way you had intended it to. Now the mesh is drawn in 3d as pure white as it doesn t have any texture.
And finally the 4th one is the rendered mode. If blender see one of these open it will select an editor to display the render because it is an image editor. Only selected faces or those surrounded by selected vertices edges will be unwrapped. You can select and edit these 2d vertices just like in the 3d editor window.
The purpose of this unwrapping of the coordinates is just to map these coordinates to images pictures so that the 3d image can have a realistic looking surface with textures derived from these images. The rendered image will appear in the uv image editor window but still nothing in my render layer node in the node editor window.
